Now hiring Independent Sales Representatives.
Every local business is judged online before anyone walks through its door: the Google listing, the reviews, the website, even what AI search tools can read about it. Keeping all of that right has a name, Digital Presence Management, and it's the part of running a business most owners never signed up for. RECON is the report that shows an owner exactly where they stand, who they're up against on Google, and what to fix first. You put it in their hands, and you earn $25 on every $97 report you sell, with no cap.
Independent Sales Representative — RECON
The opportunity
A local business used to need a website. Now it needs the website, a Google Business Profile, the same accurate details on every directory customers search, a steady flow of reviews with replies, social profiles that look alive, ads that don't waste money, and a site AI search tools can actually read. Customers check all of it before they call. Fewer than 1 in 100 Google searchers click anything on page two of results (Backlinko, 2025). 87% of US consumers have run into wrong business information online, and 62% would avoid a business if they found incorrect information about it (BrightLocal, 2023).
Keeping every one of those pieces accurate and working together is Digital Presence Management, or DPM. Building a website got cheap and easy. Managing everything around it didn't, and it never stops: listings drift, reviews go unanswered, pages slow down. That's why DPM is sold as an ongoing monthly service, the way owners already pay someone to keep their books.
Here's the owner's problem. They can feel that something is off, but they can't say what, so they can't tell a good DPM offer from a bad one. Sign up blind and they pay for work they don't need, or miss the one thing actually costing them customers.
RECON comes first. It's the owner's guide into Digital Presence Management: it shows what their business needs, and only what it needs, before they spend a dollar on ongoing help. Whether they fix it themselves, hand it to someone they trust or choose managed implementation, they know exactly what to ask for.
We think Digital Presence Management is headed where smartphones and online shopping went: from something a few businesses had to something every business needs. The owners who get ahead of it will pull away from the ones who don't. The numbers above say most local businesses still have work to do. That's the opening, and right now you can be the one who walks in with the answer.
What RECON is
RECON is Wonder Constant Labs' Digital Presence report. It gathers the public signals around a business across up to seven areas (website, local SEO, listings, reviews, social, advertising and AI Engine Readiness) and turns them into one 0–100 score and letter grade. When Google shows nearby competitors for their kind of business, it names the top ones and compares the owner's reviews with theirs. Then it lays out the gaps, their likely business effect, and the order that makes the most sense to fix them, in plain English.
The Complete RECON Report is $97, one time. There's no subscription and no required service provider. Most reports are ready within 10 minutes of payment, delivered as three PDFs the owner keeps: a Score Report, a Technical Analysis and a RECON Dossier. Every report has an ID anyone can check at app.reconscore.io/verify, so the owner knows it's genuine and unaltered.
Why it sells
You don't walk in with a brochure. You walk in, run a free RECON Snapshot on the spot, and the owner watches their own business get checked in seconds: one page of their website, Google's phone speed test, and a preview of everything the full report covers. Now you're talking about their business, not your product.
From there the ask is small: $97, once, for a report that shows them how they compare with the competitors down the street and tells them what to do next. No contract, no subscription, nothing to install. They buy it on their own phone through your QR code, and the report does the explaining after you leave.
The conversation doesn't end at the door, either. Leave a card with your QR code, and an owner who reads it that night and buys is still your sale.
What you'll do
- 01Walk into local businesses and ask for the owner or manager. This is face-to-face selling.
- 02Run a free RECON Snapshot with the owner's or manager's permission, and walk them through what it shows.
- 03If they want the full report, they buy it on their own phone or computer through your personal QR code or link. You never take payment.
- 04Owner not in? Leave a card with your QR code on it. If they buy through it later, the sale is yours.
- 05Follow up by phone, text or email with businesses you've visited, using the contact details they gave you.
Who does well here
- You sell to business owners face to face for a living: merchant services, advertising, payroll, insurance, point-of-sale or something close to them.
- You'd rather open a conversation with the owner's own results than with a pitch.
- You want pay that tracks what you sell, with no ceiling on it.
- You explain technical things in plain English and never promise results.
- You know the business districts where you live.
How you're paid
It's 100% commission: $25 for every $97 RECON report sold through your code, with no limit on how many.
Hit 25 sales with purchase dates inside any 30 days and you unlock a second way to earn. From then on, each time a business that bought RECON through your code starts a monthly Digital Presence Management plan within 90 days of buying its report, you earn another $25. It's paid once we receive our referral payment for that plan, on the next regular payday, and once per business. You don't sell, price or describe the plan yourself.
A sale counts once the customer's payment goes through and their report is delivered. If delivery is ever delayed, it counts on day five anyway, unless the customer was refunded because the report never arrived. Purchases by you or your household, test orders, duplicates and fraudulent payments don't count.
We pay twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th, by direct deposit, with a statement listing every sale. Every commission is paid within 30 days of the purchase.
Once you have $100 or more in earned commissions waiting, you can ask to be paid before the next 1st or 15th. The payment provider's actual fee for that extra transfer, and for faster delivery if you pick it, comes out of the payment. You see the fee before you confirm, and we never add anything to it.
Contractor terms
- Status
- You're an independent contractor. You set your own schedule, pick the businesses you visit and sell your own way, within RECON's rules on product accuracy and field conduct. There are no quotas or required hours, and nobody assigns you a territory. Your commissions are reported on Form 1099-NEC where the law requires it.
- What you get
- Your personal referral code and QR link, digital leave-behind card designs, RECON graphics and brand assets, and the product claims sheet, all free. You print what you choose, at your own cost. Make your own flyers, posts or scripts if you like; what they say about RECON just has to come from the claims sheet. You never have to buy leads, inventory, training or a starter kit.
- Your own work
- Your code and your sales are yours. If you want someone helping you sell, get our written OK first.
- Expenses
- You run your own business, so your phone, car, gas and printing are on you. So is any business license or solicitor permit your city or county requires.
- Driving
- If you drive to visits, your auto policy has to cover business use and meet the agreement's minimum limits. Show us proof once when you start, keep it active, and tell us right away if it lapses.
- Adjustments
- If a customer disputes the charge with their bank and we lose, or we refund a sale to settle a bank inquiry or a card-network fraud warning, that commission comes back out of your future commissions. So does a sale reversed because of your own fraud or misrepresentation. You get written notice first. If you leave with $50 or more still owed that way, we can ask you to repay it; anything under $50 is forgiven. If an owner asks us directly for a refund after their report is delivered and we give it, you keep your commission.
- The agreement
- Every term is in the Independent Sales Consultant Agreement. You read all of it before you sign.
