Provenance

RECON predates Wonder Constant Labs. The founder, Jerry W. Zalesak, designed and shipped it as his own system before starting the company — a working platform with real inputs, real failure modes, and a number at the end that somebody acts on.

Wonder Constant Labs later brought RECON into the company's own stewardship, not because it was built to prove anything, but because its as-built architecture turned out to be an unusually strong match for the question Project Lattice was already asking. Project Lattice did not create RECON and did not commission it. The Lab recognised the fit in a system that already existed, and organised RECON's stewardship and next phase of development under Lattice as a result.

This page states that chronology plainly because it is easy to get backwards: RECON is not a Lattice output, a peer-reviewed result, or evidence that Wonder Constant Labs has published research findings. It is a commercial system the Lab now stewards, and a live case for a research question the Lab is separately investigating.

The problem

As a business problem

A local business's public presence is scattered across a website, search visibility, directory listings, reviews, social accounts, advertising signals, and geography — heterogeneous evidence that a sales or marketing team has to somehow read as one picture before deciding what to do about it.

As a Lattice representation problem

Project Lattice asks what survives when information becomes data. RECON is a commercial instance of exactly that problem: it has to decide which facts become variables, how unlike evidence gets normalised onto a common scale, what context survives when that evidence is compressed into a single number, and how explanatory and operational context can be restored afterward so the number is still trustworthy to act on.

Five public modules above. Do not confuse that count with the six scored dimensions the RECON Score™ is built from, the four deliverable document formats a run produces (Score Report, Technical Analysis, Field Letter, and Dossier), or the four commercial access tiers reconscore.io currently sells. The authenticated RECON Command Center — the operations backend that generates those deliverables, enforces tier limits, and (at the top tier) supports white-label branding — is a broader operational surface behind the public modules, not a sixth public module itself.

  • Wonder Constant Labs is named as the parent company on reconscore.io, and reconscore.io's own structured data declares Wonder Constant Labs as its parent organisation.

Limitations

Stated before anyone has to ask.

  • The exact weighting the six scored dimensions receive inside the RECON Score™ is not publicly documented on this page or on reconscore.io.
  • Whether the compressed score, once restored through the Dossier, Technical, Map, and Scheduler stages, still faithfully represents the underlying business is the open Lattice research question this system raises — it is a question under investigation, not a settled result.
  • No public, reproducible audit trail exists for how a specific score was produced for a specific business.

Internal technical record

A private diligence suite reconstructs how this system would have been documented from discovery through stewardship, had a formal record existed from the start. It is not published — titles and status only, no files or links.
